Welcome to the Holy Family of Nazareth School website and the news letter for August 31, 2010. Come often and see the exciting new things happening here at Holy Family of Nazareth School.

August is fading into September and the school year is moving right along. Classes are bustling with new wonders and the children are eager to learn the next new concept presented. The new students are absorbed into the classrooms and seem to have been here all along. It is a pleasure to see the happy faces coming and going each day.

I would like to welcome Miss Shari Ruiz to our staff. Miss Ruiz will be our second Pre-K teacher as we split the classroom to better serve the needs of your children. Miss Ruiz, a graduate of UNT (and an alum of Holy Family) with certification in Early Childhood and ESL, is excited and looking forward to working with your children.

I would like to remind everyone of the Parent Information Night and Pizza Dinner this Thursday in the cafeteria and parish hall. Pizza will be served at 6:30 with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 7:00. Please make every effort to attend as we will review many items and hopefully answer any questions you might have.

Enclosed in your family folders are additional tickets for the Mustang Raffle that will take place at the Parish Festival on the 26th of September. Any help in selling these tickets before the festival would be greatly appreciated as much of the funding of the festival supports our programs at the school. I would also ask each family to bring in 2 liter bottles of soda for the festival. Please join the fun of the Chili Cook-off, Fish Fry, Bingo and Festival all coming up these next few weeks.

There is Safe Environment training tonight in the Gonzales Room. Please remember that in order to volunteer, or work with any of our children, you must be cleared with a background check and have taken the Diocesan Safe Environment training. Renewals can be done online.

This Thursday is the first Thursday of the month. Spirit Day uniform is allowed.

I would also remind everyone that Friday is a half day with dismissal at noon. After care will be available. Weekly rates cover the extended day cost of half days. If you would like to use After Care for the half day the fee will be $25.00. No School on Monday in celebration of Labor Day.

St. Therese reminds us in prayer that we are where we are supposed to be:
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that
has been given to you.

Thank you for your continued support of quality Catholic education at Holy Family.

Sincerely yours,

Dennis R. Poyant
Principal
